Irena Lapsa

Editor-in-chief at Latvijas Banka

Irena Lapsa has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Irena started their career at Unicredit Bank as a Legal Counsel in 1998 and worked there until 2007. Following this, they worked as a Freelance Lawyer Linguist for the European Central Bank in 2009 and continued freelancing as a Lawyer Linguist until 2017 for various companies, including the Court of Justice of the European Union. In 2008, they took on a role as the Legal Linguistics Master Programme Manager and Lecturer at Riga Graduate School of Law, where they worked until 2015. In 2016, they joined Rigensis Bank as a Compliance and Methodology Officer and then moved on to Latvijas Banka in 2018, where they currently serve as the Editor-in-Chief.

Irena Lapsa obtained their Professional Qualification in Law from Latvijas Universitate, where they studied from 1995 to 2001. Later, from 2007 to 2009, they pursued an MA degree in Legal Linguistics at the Riga Graduate School of Law.
