Janis Blums

Janis Blums has a diverse background with experience in various industries. Janis started their career as a General Manager at Egmont Latvia in 1993 and held this position until 2000. Following this, they worked at Eniro Latvia as the President & CEO and Director of Marketing from 2000 to 2003. Janis then served as the CEO and Managing Director at Mazeikiu Nafta Trading House from 2003 to 2005. Janis continued to advance in their career and became a Member of the Board at Alexela Oil Latvia from 2006 to 2008, and at Ober-Haus Real Estate Latvia from 2008 to 2009. Janis's most recent role was at the Bank of Latvia, where they started in 2009 as the Head of Department. During their tenure, they successfully reorganized the department, optimized the branch network, and introduced a new logistical cash management IT system in Latvia. Janis also played a crucial role in the preparation and implementation of the euro cash changeover in Latvia. In 2014, they became a Member of the Board at the Bank of Latvia and held this position until March 2020. Janis has contributed to various organizational and cash cycle efficiency projects and has been instrumental in developing the Bank of Latvia as a regional cash logistics center.

Janis Blums attended Latvijas Universitate from 1985 to 1992, where they studied Economics. Later, Janis Blums earned a Professional bachelor's degree in Law from Biznesa augstskola Turība.
