Dimitrios Mamalis

Senior R&d Engineer: Materials And Process at Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult

Dimitrios Mamalis, PhD, is a Senior R&D Engineer specializing in Materials and Processes at Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult since September 2019. Prior to this role, Dimitrios worked at the University of Edinburgh School of Engineering from 2016 to May 2023 as a Post Doctoral Research Associate, contributing to various EPSRC and Horizon 2020 funded projects related to advanced composite materials for renewable energy applications. Dimitrios has also held positions as a Marie Curie Experienced Researcher at Orbital Marine Power and ÉireComposites Teo, focusing on novel composite materials and processes for offshore renewable energy. Academic experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Edinburgh while completing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. Dimitrios holds a Master of Engineering in Materials Science from the National Technical University of Athens and has completed an internship in qualitative control of materials at ATTIKO METRO S.A.
