Before joining Laurel, Max emerged as a nationwide leader in social impact and student activism. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Students Against Child Marriage, the first youth-led organization to combat the American child marriage crisis. Through his work with survivors and partners, his organization has ended the abusive practice in three states and mobilized a national movement of young people. He has offered testimony in more than a dozen states and is frequently consulted by researchers and the media.
A New York native and DC transplant, Max graduated summa cum laude from American University with a B.S. in Data Science and Political Science, a minor in Literature, and awards for his leadership in student government.
