Wilco Snel

Senior Director Program Management at Lava Therapeutics B.V.

Wilco Snel has a long and varied work experience. Wilco began their career in 1994 as a Safety Specialist at P&G, where they were responsible for designing, coordinating, and interpreting non-clinical and clinical safety studies. Wilco then moved to Johnson & Johnson in 1997, where they were the Section Head of Drug Metabolism, coordinating, designing, and executing non-clinical pharmacokinetics and metabolism studies and clinical mass balance studies. In 2001, they joined Venn Life Sciences ED B.V. as a Senior Consultant Project Management and a Consultant Non-clinical Development, where they were responsible for planning, operational coordination and financial control of multidisciplinary drug development projects, as well as coordination and monitoring of non-clinical pharmacokinetics, metabolism and toxicity studies. In 2013, they joined Astellas Pharma as an Associate Director Project Management, where they were responsible for project management and project leadership with responsibility for strategic, scientific and operational coordination of cross-functional development projects. In 2017, they joined Galapagos as a Project Management Lead and Director Project Planning and Reporting, where they were responsible for the development and implementation of an Enterprise Project & Portfolio Management (EPPM) tool, functional and cross-functional project planning, portfolio analysis, preparation of project and portfolio overviews, coordination of corporate budget and resource forecast exercises, and process development and documentation. Most recently, in 2022, they joined LAVA Therapeutics N.V. as a Senior Director Program Management.

Wilco Snel has an extensive educational background, beginning with a B.Sc. in Clinical Chemistry and Hematology from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences from 1982 to 1985. Wilco then earned an M.Sc. in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences from Leiden University from 1985 to 1990. Finally, they earned a PhD in Toxicology and Drug Metabolism from Leiden University from 1990 to 1994.
