Lawndale Elementary School District
Kristin Hallsted is an experienced educator currently serving as a Third Grade Dual Immersion Teacher at Lawndale Elementary School District since August 2015. Prior experience includes roles as a Private Tutor at Seaside Learning Center, a Spanish Teacher at My Escuelita, and an Instructional Assistant at NEW Academy Canoga Park, where Kristin contributed to dual immersion classes and facilitated student learning in a Spanish-speaking environment. Additional experience involves working as a Corps Member with Jumpstart, focusing on early literacy development, and an Office Assistant with Behavioral Research and Teaching. Kristin holds a Master's Degree in Bilingual Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University and a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and Spanish from Whittier College.
Lawndale Elementary School District
The Lawndale Elementary School District was established in 1906 with one teacher and 20 students. Since then, the District has blossomed to more than 4,700 students and more than 800 teachers and staff. Lawndale Elementary School District serves students from preschool through grade eight. There are now eight schools in the District. Six elementary schools serve Kindergarten through 5th grade: William Anderson, William Green, Billy Mitchell, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Lucille J. Smith, and Mark Twain. Jane Addams Middle School and Will Rogers Middle School serve students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
