Andrea Schmidt is an accomplished physicist with extensive experience in plasma physics and engineering. Currently serving as the Acting Deputy Division Leader and Electromagnetics Section Leader at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory since May 2011, Andrea manages a team of approximately 110 personnel and oversees various projects, including the Dense Plasma Focus and Pulsed Power Fusion Plasmas initiatives. Prior to this role, Andrea was involved in both research and teaching at prestigious institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where Andrea operated advanced diagnostic equipment on fusion reactors and led graduate discussions, and UC Berkeley, where Andrea contributed to research on anti-hydrogen and taught undergraduate physics courses. Andrea holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley.
