Naomi Cheeves

Naomi Cheeves is an HPC System Engineer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where responsibilities include engineering, instantiating, and maintaining high-performance clusters while developing Python software to enhance data center capabilities. Previously, Naomi served as an LC Intern, creating RESTful web applications and installing the Lustre filesystem utilizing pacemaker software. As an HPC Academy Intern, skills were strengthened by installing and configuring an HPC cluster and expanding knowledge of Linux and operating systems. Earlier experience at Lawrence Livermore included a Computing Intern role, where Naomi developed a webpage for the Environmental Restoration Department to provide real-time data for hydrogeologists and engineers. Naomi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis, and has completed studies at Las Positas College and Amador Valley High School.
