Administrative and/or Legal Administrative Assistant

Lawson Lundell LLP is seeking an experienced Administrative or Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Yellowknife office. The successful candidate is an enthusiastic and hardworking team player who would like to work with lawyers, and other team members, in our busy Yellowknife office. The regular working hours for this role are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Standard Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and drafting various correspondence and documents
  • Time entry, billing, and preparation of expense reports
  • Maintaining efficient file management and bring forward a system for our lawyers
  • Maintaining a full calendar, email management, and managing lawyers’ practice
  • Liaising with legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers, and clients on file progress
  • General administrative duties, as required

Qualifications

  • Legal Administrative Assistant certification from an accredited institution, is preferred

  • Prior administrative experience, in a legal or professional services environment, is preferred

  • A forward thinker with exceptional attention to details

  • Has the ability to work both independently and as part of a collegial team

  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks, in order to meet deadlines

  • Strong technical skills

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills

  • Flexible, adaptable, and has a can-do attitude
