Kara Thorvaldsen

Kara Thorvaldsen is a highly experienced commercial litigator with a robust background in business litigation, intellectual property, class action defense, insurance coverage, and appeals. Since May 2022, Kara has served as a Partner at Lawson & Weitzen, LLP, following a sixteen-year tenure as a Partner at Wilson Elser. Earlier professional roles include serving as an Associate at Cornell & Gollub, where Kara focused on products liability and insurance coverage, and as a Judicial Law Clerk for the State of Rhode Island. Kara's career began in the maritime sector, working as a Captain for Sayville Ferry Service. Kara holds a Juris Doctor degree from Tulane University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Psychology from Stony Brook University.
