Dean Sequeira

Dean Sequeira has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Dean started their career in 2007 as a Trainee Financial Manager at The Cold Chain (Pty) Ltd, where they provided support in information collection and report consolidation. Dean then progressed to become a Financial Manager for the Midrand Depot, handling the financial function of the regional depot. In 2010, Dean joined Mercor Solutions (a Division of The Cold Chain) as a Financial Manager, overseeing income and expense allocation, financial and operational reporting, and budget preparation. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Financial Manager at The Cold Chain (Pty) Ltd, responsible for the head office financial function and consolidation of regional financial reports.

In 2013, Dean joined IMPERIAL Cold Logistics (Pty) Ltd as a Business Process Executive, working on the design, implementation, and enhancement of system processes supporting operating activities and business strategy. Dean later became an IT Executive, responsible for the creation and implementation of information technology and business information strategy.

In 2017, Dean joined Consumer Packaged Goods as an IT Director, where they ensured effective strategic planning, governance, and integration of the ICT value chain function. Dean managed various departments and focused on delivering high-quality service, client satisfaction, and compliance.

Their most recent role is at Laybuy, where they started in 2020 as a Business Analyst and progressed to become the Head of Data and Analytics in 2021.

Dean Sequeira obtained their Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg, where they studied from 2003 to 2006. In 2007, they completed another Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree, this time in Financial Management, from the same university. In 2017, Dean attended The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, where they earned a CIMA certification. Dean also obtained additional certifications, including an Associates of Cost and Management Accountants (ACMA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) from CIMA in the same year.
