Alan Jones

Alan Jones has extensive work experience in the field of information security and technology. Alan worked as a Director of Security Services at Layer 3 Communications, where they were responsible for developing and implementing information security services. Alan also managed a team of security engineers and provided a range of professional services, including risk assessment and penetration testing. Before that, they were the Director of Information Technology at Luckie & Company, where they virtualized the organization's infrastructure and implemented a business continuity plan. Alan also worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at TekLinks, where they helped establish the company as one of the largest independent network and management providers in Alabama. Alan gained experience in management and client relationships while leading a team of developers. Prior to that, they were a Systems Engineer at Pomeroy Computer Resources, where they worked on major rollouts and managed client relationships. Alan's early career started at Regions Financial Corporation, where they served as a UNIX Systems Engineer, managing their check imaging and processing systems.

Alan Jones obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Birmingham-Southern College from 1993 to 1997. In addition, they have acquired several certifications over the years, including the Juniper Networks Certified Design Specialist, Security (JNCDS-SEC) from Juniper Networks in July 2020, the Fortinet Network Security Expert Level 7: Certified Architect from Fortinet in April 2019, the GIAC Penetration Tester - GPEN from the SANS Institute in July 2016, the Certified Information Systems Security Professional - CISSP from (ISC)² in October 2014, the GIAC Systems and Network Auditor - GSNA from the SANS Institute in September 2006, the GIAC Security Essentials Certification - GSEC from the SANS Institute in March 2004, the Juniper Networks Certified Professional, Security (JNCIP-SEC) from Juniper Networks in December 2016, and the Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) from Palo Alto Networks in May 2015.
