Melissa Owens

Melissa Owens joined LAZ Parking as California Labor and Employment Counsel in October 2022 after enjoying working with LAZ as external counsel.

Prior to joining LAZ Parking, Melissa practiced labor and employment litigation and advice and counsel in San Diego, California.

Melissa is an active member of the Lawyers Club of San Diego, a diverse organization with the mission of advancing the status of women in the law and in society. She is currently serving as the co-chair for the law student outreach committee—facilitating law student transition into the San Diego legal community and encouraging student involvement. Additionally, she serves as a pro bono attorney for Free to Thrive, San Diego—a non-profit organization that empowers survivors of human trafficking to be free from exploitation and to thrive by providing them with holistic and trauma-informed, legal and support services in collaboration with service partners, and by increasing access to justice for all survivors.

Melissa is admitted to the bar in the State of California, the US District Court for the Central and Southern Districts of California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the State of Hawaii.
