Jie Zhang

Jie Zhang serves as the Executive Vice President of Business Innovation and Head of Technology for LazPay at Lazada since June 2021. Prior experience includes a tenure at Ant Group from July 2018 to June 2021 as Director of Alipay+ Core and Head of Technology for International E-commerce Payments. Jie Zhang's previous roles also encompass Director of Digital Payment Products and Leader of Mastercard Labs at Mastercard from September 2011 to June 2018, where leadership in FinTech innovations in payment and commerce was pivotal. Starting a career as a Staff Software Engineer at Sybase, an SAP Company, from January 2007 to September 2011, Jie Zhang was instrumental in mobile analytics product design and holds a patent in the field. Early experience includes serving as a Research Engineer at the Institute for Infocomm Research from December 2003 to December 2006, specializing in machine learning and Natural Language Processing. Education includes an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore and a B.Eng. in Computer Science and Technology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
