Dr. Toni Flowers

Chief Diversity & Social Responsibility Officer at LCMC Health

Dr. Toni Flowers has extensive experience in diversity, inclusion, and social responsibility in the healthcare field. Dr. Toni is currently serving as the Chief Diversity & Social Responsibility Officer at LCMC Health since April 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the President & CEO of Maritime Executive Consulting starting from August 2019. From September 2016 to September 2019, they held the position of Vice President & Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at Roper St. Francis Health Care, where they were responsible for developing and implementing the diversity & inclusion plan and addressing health care disparities.

Before that, Dr. Flowers held leadership roles at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital, serving as the Associate Vice President of Experience, Diversity & Inclusion from November 2011 to June 2014 and as the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer and Chief Experience Officer from June 2007 to November 2011. Dr. Toni also served as a Board Member and Chair of the Multicultural Health Committee & Children's Issues at Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency from September 2006 to September 2011.

Dr. Flowers has a strong academic background and was a Community Liaison at Wayne State University School of Medicine from 2001 to 2010. Dr. Toni also served as the Director of Health Disparities & Cultural Competency at MPRO Michigan's Quality Improvement Organization from 2000 to 2007.

Dr. Toni Flowers has a diverse education history. Dr. Toni obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Education from Christian University of Southern Indiana in 2020. Prior to this, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the same university in 2018. In addition, they also received a Doctorate of Humane Letters in Humanities/Humanistic Studies from Christian University of Southern Indiana in 2018. Dr. Flowers holds a Certificate in Diversity: Health Care Management from Georgetown University, which they acquired between 2014 and 2015. Dr. Toni also possesses a Certificate in Diversity & Labor Relations from Cornell University, completed in 2009. Dr. Toni'seducation journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts with a focus on Anthropology from Wayne State University, which they completed between 1996 and 1998.
