John Pourciau has a diverse work experience in government affairs and leadership roles. John is currently the Assistant Vice President of Government Affairs at LCMC Health since 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Interim Executive Director and CEO at the Downtown Development District of New Orleans from September 2021 to December 2021. From 2018 to 2021, John was the Chief of Staff at the Mayor's Office in the City of New Orleans.

Before working at the Mayor's Office, John served as the Chief of Staff at the New Orleans City Council, District B, from 2016 to 2017, and as the Legislative Director from 2014 to 2016. John was also a Business Analyst at The AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies from 2012 to 2014 and a Consultant at Sellers Dorsey from 2010 to 2012.

John's experience also includes working as the Director of Voter Outreach at the Louisiana Secretary of State from 2007 to 2008 and as a Legislative Analyst at the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2005 to 2007.

John Pourciau earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Amherst College, where they attended from 2001 to 2005. John later pursued further education at Temple University - James E. Beasley School of Law, from 2008 to 2011, obtaining a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law. Prior to their college education, John attended the Catholic High School of Baton Rouge, although specific dates and degrees obtained are unavailable.
