Kalan Blair has diverse work experience in the healthcare and culinary industries. They started their career at Epic, where they worked as a Senior Implementation Coordinator/Project Manager for large hospitals. As part of their role, they coordinated the installation of Epic's healthcare software system and managed a team of 25 staff members. They then worked at Grady Health System as a Revenue Cycle Epic Project Manager, overseeing an enterprise implementation and ensuring go-live readiness for billing and access applications.
Following that, Kalan joined Health Data Specialists, LLC as an Associate Epic Practice Director and Consultant, before moving on to UF Health Jacksonville. At UF Health Jacksonville, they served as the Epic Revenue Cycle Project Director, leading the implementation of various revenue cycle applications and attending design, validation, and re-engineering sessions.
Kalan later joined Nordic Global as a Senior Consultant and UTMB as an Epic Patient Access and Referrals Lead. At UTMB, they provided post-live support and optimization for revenue cycle applications, collaborating with billing, HIM, and other teams to integrate the system. They also served as a representative on the Rollout Committee and Workgroup.
After UTMB, Kalan worked at Bluetree Network, where they held the roles of Director, Client Service, and Manager, Revenue Cycle Solutions. They contributed to client service delivery and utilized Epic EHR expertise to produce better outcomes for Epic clients. They then joined LCMC Health as the Director - Revenue Cycle Applications and later as the Sr. Director IT Revenue Cycle Applications.
During their career, Kalan also explored their passion for confectionery by establishing Creative Confections by Kalan, a business specializing in cakes, confections, and candies. Prior to that, they worked as a Pastry Chef at Vespa Pizzeria.

Kalan Blair attended The University of Texas at Austin from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. Their field of study during this time included Communication Studies, Political and Corporate Communication, as well as English and Rhetoric. Following this, from 2009 to 2011, they attended The Art Institutes and obtained an Associate Degree in Bakery and Pastry. In 2004 and 2005, Kalan Blair returned to The University of Texas at Austin to pursue a Master's Degree in Public Policy Analysis.
