Dr. Michael J Stone

Dr. Michael J Stone has extensive work experience as a music educator and director. Dr. Michael J currently holds the position of Head Band Director at Leadership Prep School since 2022. Before that, they worked at Tennyson Middle School from 2016 to 2022, serving as the Orchestra Director and Director of Orchestras. Prior to that, they were the Director of Bands at Northwestern Oklahoma State University from 2009 to 2022. Dr. Michael J also held the position of Director of Bands at Texas A&M International University from 2003 to 2009 and Chair of the Department of Music at South Texas College from 1999 to 2003.

Dr. Michael J Stone completed their Bachelor's degree in Theory/Composition and Master's degree in Orchestral Conducting at The University of Iowa from 1972 to 1977. Later, they pursued a DMA degree in Orchestral Conducting at Central Pacific University, which they attained between 1999 and 2001.
