Jay Bunning

Jay Bunning has extensive experience in the aviation industry, with a focus on helicopter flight instruction and training. Jay is currently the Director of Training and Flight Instructor at Leading Edge Flight Academy, where they oversee standardized training and conducts flight and ground training with students. Jay also holds a faculty position at Central Oregon Community College as a Flight Instructor. Prior to these roles, they founded and operated Helicopter Training Videos, providing instructional videos for helicopter students. Jay has also worked as a First Officer at Trans States Airlines, a Helicopter Pilot at PHI Inc, a Helicopter Air Ambulance Pilot at Air Medical Resource Group, a Part 135 Helicopter Pilot at Temsco Helicopters, and a Part 135 Tour Pilot at Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopters. Additionally, they have served as a Flight Instructor & Tour Pilot at Leading Edge Aviation Inc and an Aviation Tutor at Central Oregon Community College. Throughout their career, Jay has played a vital role in training and educating individuals in the aviation field.

Jay Bunning completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Accountancy from Solent University between 1996 and 1999. Later, between 2010 and 2012, they pursued an Associate of Applied Science degree in Aviation from Central Oregon Community College. Jay has also obtained various certifications, including Airline Transport Pilot licenses for both multi-engine airplanes and helicopters, a Type Rating for the EMB-145 aircraft, and a Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit. Jay has additional certifications in Scenario Based Training Facilitation, being a Certified Tutor, and holds FAA WINGS Basic, Advanced & Master qualifications. Jay is also a Gold Seal Certified Flight Instructor for helicopters, with an Instrument Rating. Finally, they are a graduate of the Robinson Factory Safety Course and has completed the TSA Security Awareness training.
