Plamena Mineva-Scholz

Plamena Mineva-Scholz has extensive work experience in the field of engineering and software development. Plamena currently works at Learn In as an Engineering Manager since October 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Software Engineer at Learn In from May 2020 to October 2022.

From 2015 to 2020, Plamena worked at Roberts Trucking Warehousing Logistics as the Manager of Software Development. In this role, they led a team of 5 in building and supporting a proprietary transportation management system (TMS) for the company's brokerage divisions.

Before their time at Roberts Trucking, Plamena worked as a private Math and Computer Science Tutor from 2009 to 2015. Plamena assisted and motivated students of various age groups in their classes, prepared them for exams, and assigned and marked homework.

From 2011 to 2014, Plamena held two positions at the University of St Andrews. Plamena worked as a Research Assistant, where they developed a new package for GAP, a System for Computational Discrete Algebra, and reviewed algorithms for reducing transducers. Additionally, they took on the role of a Bartender, training new employees and managing the cash register.

In 2012, Plamena was involved in a Communication and Teaching in Science Placement at The Waid Academy. Plamena assisted teachers in delivering the Math curriculum and designed a class syllabus to teach strategy through educational math games.

Plamena Mineva-Scholz pursued their education at the University of St Andrews from 2009 to 2013. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.

In addition to their formal education, Plamena also obtained various certifications. In March 2015, they completed a certification in Usable Security from the University of Maryland, College Park on Coursera. In January 2015, they also accomplished a certification in Cryptography from the same institution and platform. Lastly, in February 2023, they acquired a certification in Engineering Leadership from eCornell.
