Abby Schachner

Abby Schachner is a Senior Researcher at the Learning Policy Institute since September 2018, co-leading the Early Childhood Learning team and engaging in research aimed at enhancing children's social, emotional, and academic outcomes to inform policy and practice. Prior to this role, Abby served as Senior Manager of Efficacy Research at Age of Learning, Inc., where responsibilities included designing and supervising educational research studies. Earlier experiences include positions as Principal Researcher at SRI International, where early childhood programs were evaluated, and a Child Development Technical Writer at WestEd, synthesizing child development research. Abby's academic roles at UC Davis involved designing studies on children's emotional development and teaching courses on social and personality development. Educational credentials include a B.A. in Psychology from Georgetown University and a Ph.D. in Human Development from the University of California, Davis.
