Kelvin Smith

Kelvin Smith has extensive work experience in software development and accounting compliance. Kelvin served as the Vice President of EZLease Engineering at LeaseAccelerator since February 2020, where they were primarily responsible for developing the EZLease lease accounting software to ensure compliance with accounting standards such as ASC 842, IFRS 16, and GASB 87. Kelvin also developed the EZ ARO software to comply with asset retirement obligations standards ASC 410 and IAS 37. Prior to their role at LeaseAccelerator, Kelvin worked at Financial Computer Systems Inc. for over 34 years, where they held the position of Vice President. During their tenure, they played a key role in developing the EZLease lease accounting software and the EZ ARO asset retirement obligations accounting software, ensuring compliance with various accounting standards. Kelvin also authored The Lease Accounting blog. Before entering the software development field, Kelvin worked as an Editorial Assistant at Foreign Policy magazine, where they reviewed, recommended, edited, and fact-checked articles. Kelvin also served as a programmer at Evans Griffiths & Hart, where they developed software for internal and external use.

Kelvin Smith attended Lawrence University from 1980 to 1984, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in French Language and Literature.
