Non-Executive Chairman at Leathwaite

Martin joined Leathwaite as Non-Executive Chairman in July 2015 and advises the partners on strategic direction and operational performance.

Martin is a digital and social entrepreneur specialising in technology, media, healthcare and communications. He has run a wide variety of businesses over the past 20 years through growth, turnaround and at most life stages including corporate venturing. From 2001-2011 he was CEO and a significant investor in IRIS Software Group driving growth from subscription (SAAS) revenues of £9m to over £120m p.a. and from an enterprise value of £30m to over £500m. Under his leadership IRIS became the UK’s largest private software house and a market leader in each of its vertical sectors.

He has partnered with around 10 PE/VC firms, was formerly Chairman of Clearswift, a global cyber security software vendor and is an active private investor in businesses with social impact. As a philanthropist he is passionate about education and helping get young people into employment and self employment.

Married with two grown up daughters, he is a keen tennis player, amateur artist, learner golfer and avid traveller.
