Bernadette Bruton

Bernadette Bruton serves as the Chief People Officer at Leeds Building Society since October 2023. Previously, Bernadette held senior leadership roles including Executive General Manager for Culture, Leadership and Learning at National Australia Bank and Global Talent and Organisational Development Director at Aviva. Notable positions also include HR Director for EMEIA at Fujitsu and Organisation Health Director at BT. Bernadette's early career featured roles at Virgin Money and Northern Rock, where significant transformational initiatives were implemented. Before returning to corporate life, Bernadette took a sabbatical focused on family and community development. An accomplished academic, Bernadette holds a Master's in Managing Human Resources and additional qualifications in executive coaching and HR leadership.
