Susan Rix

Board Member at Leeds Trinity University

Susan is a retired Deputy Headteacher of Catholic Secondary school in Bradford. He career was based in Secondary schools founded by the Sisters of the Cross and Passion religious order.

Susan was a lead teacher in the Technical and Vocational Educational initiative including establishing a Work Placements programme for post 14 students, working with E2L students from Europe and beyond. One of her achievements was being awarded the LTU 'Outstanding Contribution to Catholic Education' award.

Susan was responsible for Pastoral Care and Safeguarding of the whole school community, leadership of Academic and Pastoral work teams and collaboration work with cross phases in education. She delivered vocational education for Post-14 and Post-16 cohorts, worked as an assessor, as an examiner, including writing a new exam course, and as a careers teacher.

Susan's work as a governor continues her connection with younger people and the world of Catholic education founded by the Sisters of the Cross and Passion. She is proud to be in the position to encourage all those at Leeds Trinity who work in pursuing its admirable vision, values and mission to ensure the students enjoy a full and fruitful career at the University and in life beyond. She also seeks to assist with building networks between Leeds Trinity, schools and the Leeds diocese.
