Carol Shields

Carol Shields, MCHS, PA-C, and retired Paramedic, possesses extensive experience in trauma and critical care, serving at Legacy Health as a PA and PALS Instructor since 2007. In parallel, Carol holds an AHA Instructor position at Oregon Health & Science University and has coordinated professional development and education programs at Portland Community College from 2015 to 2018, emphasizing emergency medicine and critical care education for EMS, nurses, and allied health professionals. Carol has led continuing education initiatives, ensuring high-quality training as Chief/Superintendent of Skamania County Emergency Medical Services from 2008 to 2015 and as a part-time instructor at NCTI. Academic qualifications include a Master's in Clinical Health Science with a focus on Physician Assistant studies from the University of Washington, alongside a diverse background in social sciences and emergency medical training.
