Lawrence Yuan, MBA, has a strong background in finance and operations. Lawrence currently serves as the Vice President of Finance and Operations at Legal Aid at Work. Prior to this role, Lawrence worked as a Finance Manager at Room to Read, where they led budget developments and supported the Development and Marketing team in securing annual organizational revenue goals. Lawrence also has experience as the Director of Finance at the American Conservatory Theater and as the Chief Financial Officer at YWCA San Francisco + Marin. Throughout their career, Lawrence has demonstrated expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, and audit preparation. Lawrence holds an MBA and prepared for graduate school by taking a gap year at Golden Gate University. Overall, Lawrence has a proven track record of successfully leading financial and operational initiatives in various organizations.
Lawrence Yuan, MBA, has a well-rounded education history spanning various disciplines. Lawrence obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in International Business & Accounting from the Lam Family College of Business at San Francisco State University in 2007. Lawrence then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University, which they completed in 2008.
In 2015, Lawrence embarked on their Master of Business Administration (MBA) journey at Dominican University of California, specializing in Strategic Leadership. Lawrence successfully completed this program in 2016, further enhancing their business acumen and leadership skills.
Seeking to expand their knowledge in the field of organizational leadership, Lawrence enrolled in Golden Gate University in 2020. During their time there, they pursued a Master of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, with a focus on Organizational Leadership. This program concluded in 2021.
With their diverse educational background in accounting, business administration, and psychology, Lawrence Yuan is equipped with a multifaceted skill set that positions him well for leadership roles in various industries.

Legal Aid at Work
Legal Aid at Work promotes the rights and economic self-sufficiency of low-wage workers and marginalized communities through free legal services, education, and advocacy at the local, state, and national level. Using the law as a tool, we help low-wage workers create the best possible future for themselves and their families. As one of the few legal aid organizations providing direct community legal services as well as representation in court, impact litigation, and policy advocacy, we address the full spectrum of employment-related issues for our clients including: -- Unpaid minimum or overtime wages; -- Denial of medical / family leave; -- Denial of disability accommodations; and -- Discrimination on the basis of race, national origin, immigration status, language, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. Legal Aid at Work focuses on six program areas: disability rights; gender equity; national origin, immigration, and language rights; racial equality; wage and hour enforcement litigation; and community legal services. We help our clients and our community by providing a wide range of services, including limited and full legal representation; pre-litigation resolutions; representation before administrative and governmental entities; expert testimony before legislative bodies; and technical support.
