Amanda Laborde

Amanda LaBorde has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Amanda is currently working as a Duty Counsel at Legal Aid Ontario since July 2023. Prior to that, they were an Articling Student at the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic from July 2022 to May 2023. Amanda also gained experience as a Student Staff at York University - Osgoode Hall Law School from October 2020 to April 2022, where they contributed to the development of the PBSC's new Family Justice Centre. Additionally, Amanda worked as a Student Researcher at UDocs in May 2020, conducting research on topics related to Big Data analytics, Cybersecurity, machine learning, and A.I. in the legal industry. Before that, they were a Law Clerk/Legal Assistant at Falconers LLP from May 2015 to August 2019. Amanda's early experience includes being a Paralegal Student at Centennial College in 2012.

Amanda LaBorde's education history includes a variety of academic pursuits. From 2006 to 2010, they attended York University, where they earned a degree in Criminology with a focus on Canadian Law, Legal Studies, and Jurisprudence. Following this, in 2012 and 2013, they enrolled in a Graduate Certificate program at Centennial College, specializing in Paralegal Studies. Moving forward to 2019, Amanda pursued further education at York University's Osgoode Hall Law School, where they completed their Doctor of Law (JD) degree. During their time at Osgoode Hall Law School, they did not specify a specific field of study. Additionally, in July 2020, Amanda obtained a Passport to Practice Certificate from Passport to Practice institution, further enhancing their legal skill set.
