Staff Lawyer, Family & Criminal, Tri-counties at Legal Aid Ontario

Amy Secord has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Amy started their career as an Articling Student at The Morris Law Group in 2008. Amy then worked as a Staff Lawyer at the Centre Francophone de Toronto from 2010 to 2011. Amy joined Legal Aid Ontario in 2011, where they held multiple roles. Amy started as a Staff Duty Counsel, providing legal advice and representation in family law. Later, they became a Staff Lawyer at the Family Law Service Centre, specializing in family law matters. Currently, they serve as a Staff Lawyer in the Family & Criminal division, providing duty counsel services in Criminal and Family Law throughout Legal Aid Ontario's central east district. Amy has extensive experience in various legal areas and has provided crucial assistance to their clients over the years.

Amy Secord has a diverse educational background. Amy attended Simcoe Composite School from 1989 to 1994, where they obtained an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and Ontario Academic Credit. Following this, they pursued their Bachelor's degree at Wilfrid Laurier University from 1994 to 1998. During their time there, they focused on Honours French Language & Literature and Anthropology.

Continuing their education, Amy enrolled in Université de Moncton from 2005 to 2008, where they completed their LL.B. degree in Common Law.

In addition to their academic achievements, Amy Secord has obtained several certifications. In 2009, they became a Barrister and Solicitor through The Law Society of Upper Canada. Later, in 2010, they received the certification of Notary Public for the Province of Ontario from the Attorney General of the Province of Ontario. Lastly, Amy earned the Accredited Family Mediator (AccFm) certification from the Ontario Association For Family Mediation in November 2017.
