Heather Emptage, CD has a diverse and extensive work experience. Heather began their career as an Assistance Coordinator at RBC Insurance from November 2004 to December 2006. Heather then worked as a Bilingual Bank Service Representative at Manulife Bank of Canada in 2007. From September 2008 to April 2009, they served as an English as a Second Language Instructor at Boucherau Lingua Internationale. Heather continued their ESL teaching career as a freelance instructor from September 2009 to June 2010.
In 2011, Heather took on the role of Articles Editor for the Revue juridique des étudiants et étudiantes de l'Université Laval, where they edited articles and promoted the publication. From 2012 to 2022, they worked at Legal Aid Ontario, initially as an Articling Student, then as a Bilingual Staff Lawyer. In this role, they handled criminal and family law cases, acted as Duty Counsel, provided legal advice, and represented clients in court. Heather also worked as an Assistant Crown Attorney at the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General from January 2022 to July 2022.
During their career, Heather also served as a Captain in the Canadian Forces - Cadet Instructors Cadre (CIC). Heather received several awards and completed various training courses, including Basic Officer Qualification and Captain Qualification courses. Heather held staff officer positions at Air Cadet Units in different locations.
Additionally, Heather worked as an Assistant Manager and Cashier at Zone Co-operative Université Laval from August 2009 to May 2010, overseeing cashiers and inventory for the business faculty bookstore.

Heather Emptage, CD pursued their education in a chronological manner. From 2001 to 2004, they attended Wilfrid Laurier University where they obtained their HBA degree with a focus on French. Subsequently, from 2007 to 2010, they studied at Université Laval and earned their LL.B degree, specializing in Civil Law. Finally, they continued their education at Universite de Montreal from 2010 to 2012, completing a JD/LL.M degree with a concentration in North American Common Law.
