Rebecca Hammond

Policy Counsel - Aboriginal Justice Strategy at Legal Aid Ontario

Rebecca Hammond has a diverse work experience in the legal and public service sectors. Rebecca started their career at Service Canada as a Citizen Service Officer from May 2008 to August 2011. Rebecca then joined Legal Aid Ontario as a Summer Student in May 2013. Rebecca returned to Legal Aid Ontario in July 2014 as a Student-at-Law and continued in the role until June 2015 when they became a Staff Lawyer. Most recently, they have been working as a Policy Counsel - Aboriginal Justice Strategy since February 2020. Rebecca had the opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge in their various roles, contributing to their professional growth and development.

Rebecca Hammond's education history is as follows:

From 2002 to 2006, Rebecca attended Carleton University where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and French.

Rebecca continued their studies at Carleton University from 2006 to 2008, obtaining a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Canadian Studies.

Rebecca then enrolled at the University of Manitoba and studied from 2011 to 2014, ultimately receiving a Doctor of Law (JD) degree in Law.

In 2019 to 2020, they pursued a graduate diploma in Indigenous Policy and Administration at Carleton University.
