Rita Roy

Rita Roy has a diverse work experience in the legal field, starting with their role as a Staff Lawyer at Legal Aid Ontario since 2013. In this role, they represent clients in criminal and family law cases, handling various proceedings such as bail hearings, guilty plea court, and family court proceedings. Rita also provides duty counsel services and drafts legal documents.

Prior to this, Rita worked as a Staff Lawyer at West Scarborough Neighbourhood Community Centre for a short period in 2012. Rita also gained experience as a Research Lawyer for various clients from 2011 to 2012.

Rita has also contributed their expertise as a Lawyer (Pro Bono Services) at both the South Asian Legal Clinic of Ontario and the Ontario Human Rights Legal Support Centre from 2010 to 2011.

Rita started their legal career as an Articling Student at Mohan & Mohan LLP from 2004 to 2005 before becoming a Lawyer at Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP from 2005 to 2010.
