Maria Pascual Carnicero

Maria Pascual Carnicero is an experienced professional with a diverse background in the public and private sectors. Maria started their career in 1998 as a Program Manager and General Manager at Servicios Maya para el Desarrollo (SMD), where they designed, fundraised and managed rural development programs. In 2001, they founded and served as a board member of the non-profit organization Asociación de Análisis y Discusión (ANADI). In 2003, they were the US-CA Free Trade Agreement Technical Coordinator at the Ministry of Economy of Guatemala. From 2004 to 2008, they were a Private Sector Advisor at Chemonics International, where they innovated and architected the new land lease authority in Afghanistan. In 2011, they were a Research Scientist at The University of Montana, where they developed the pilot architecture for Legal Atlas online knowledge platform. Maria was also a Co-Founder and Director of Legal Atlas, an award-winning innovation in partnership with the University of Montana providing global legal intelligence services. In 2013, they were a Value Chain Consultant at Global CAD - Center of Partnerships for Development. In 2014, they became a Partner at NOSCO Consulting, a consulting company serving public and private sector in Afghanistan.

Maria Pascual Carnicero completed a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Barcelona, School of Economics between 1990 and 1995. Maria then pursued postgraduate studies in Environmental Law at the University of Barcelona, School of Law between 1996 and 1997. Finally, they obtained a Master of Science in Food and Nutrition from the University of San Carlos Guatemala, School of Pharmacy between 1998 and 2002.
