Jonas Schuett

Jonas Schuett is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for the Governance of AI (GovAI) since October 2021, with additional roles as a Research Fellow and Research Affiliate at the same institution. Since July 2024, Jonas has been a member of the Expert Group on AI Risk & Accountability at OECD.AI. At the Institute for Law & AI, Jonas serves as a Non-Executive Board Member, Research Affiliate, and Research Fellow since January 2020. In early 2022, Jonas acted as an Expert Advisor on Artificial Intelligence for the UK government, collaborating with various governmental entities including the Brexit Opportunities Unit and the Office for AI. Previous experience includes an internship at Google DeepMind, where participation in policy research and intelligence was key, and a consultant role at KPMG Law, contributing to the "AI In Control" project. Early career included research assistant positions at White & Case LLP. Jonas holds a PhD candidacy in Law from Goethe University Frankfurt and an MJur/First State Exam in Law from Heidelberg University.
