Chief Technology Officer at Legendary Play

Benjamin Schug has been working in the technology field for over 8 years. In 2011, they began working as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at Saarland University, where they built a performance testing prototype in Java for different variations of vertical and horizontal database partitionings and designed and implemented a prototype for a self-configuring database in C++. From 2012-2014, they worked at NEWTRACKS as a Lead Developer, where they were responsible for all technical decisions, including the software architecture for both the backend and the frontend, as well as the entire backend implementation and large parts of the frontend implementation. Benjamin also supervised three Junior Developers and participated in the product planning together with the producer and the lead designer. In 2014, Benjamin began working as a Full Stack Developer at Happy Tuesday, where they were responsible for a full rewrite of the game logic to allow realtime multiplayer in Hero Defense, and they also lead the port of the game from mobile to PC. Benjamin also worked as the lead developer on the VW Race Anywhere mobile game and helped bring it from prototype to production quality. From 2016-2018, they worked at DOJO Madness as a Senior Developer. Finally, they have been working as the Chief Technology Officer at Legendary Play since 2018.

Benjamin Schug obtained a Master's degree in Informatik from the Universität des Saarlandes between 2003 and 2011.
