Renee Charles has extensive experience in the corporate real estate industry, with a focus on project management and workplace strategy. Renee has worked for various prominent companies including Lehrer Cumming, JLL, AIG, Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Citigroup, Charles Development Company LLC, and Credit Suisse First Boston.
At Lehrer Cumming, Renee served as a Project Director, starting in December 2019. Prior to that, they worked at JLL as a Vice President within the Project and Development Services division from 2017 to 2019. Renee'sresponsibilities at JLL included site selection due diligence, leasing preparation, project management, and internal process enhancement within JLL's Operations department.
At AIG, Renee held the position of Director of Workplace Strategy from 2012 to 2016. During their tenure, they developed an Integrated Business Practice for Global Corporate Real Estate, established occupational safety standards, and implemented energy reduction techniques. Renee also wrote a comprehensive Workplace Standards Manual and managed procurement standardization and cost savings initiatives.
From 2007 to 2012, Renee worked at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. in two separate roles. As Vice President of Corporate Real Estate and Head of Americas Capital Projects, they oversaw a team of project managers and successfully completed multiple tenant and landlord projects across the Americas. In their second role at Goldman Sachs, they managed capital projects and introduced tools for non-LEED certified projects to improve energy efficiency and financial controls.
Prior to their time at Goldman Sachs, Renee was a Vice President at Citigroup from 2005 to 2006. In this role, they managed the Project Management team, developed financial management tools, and acted as a senior project manager for a large-scale office tower project in Long Island City.
Renee also has experience as an Owner of Charles Development Company LLC from 2003 to 2005, and as a Senior Project Manager at Goldman Sachs from 1998 to 2003. In their role at Goldman Sachs, they oversaw the fit-out of a 1.0 million square foot tenant interior and played a key role in developing a disaster recovery facility.
Renee'searly career includes a role as Director of Corporate Real Estate, APAC at Credit Suisse First Boston from 1996 to 1998. In this position, Renee managed the Corporate Real Estate group in the Asia-Pacific region and successfully executed site selection strategies and fit-outs in multiple cities.
Throughout their career, Renee Charles has demonstrated strong leadership skills, the ability to deliver projects on time and under budget, and a focus on implementing sustainable and cost-saving measures. Renee has a diverse skill set in project management, workplace strategy, and real estate operations.
Renee Charles has a Master of Science degree from the New York University Schack Real Estate Institute, with a concentration in Real Estate Finance and Development. Renee also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where they studied Architecture and Environmental Design. In addition, Renee holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Renee also obtained a certification in NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) from the State of NY in September 1978.
