Tarek Salem

Tarek Salem is a seasoned researcher in polymer chemistry with extensive experience in various prestigious institutions. Currently serving as a Guest Scientist at Leibniz-Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden since April 2014, Tarek focuses on the synthesis and functionalization of core-shell particles for innovative applications. Previous roles include an association as a professor at the National Research Center in Egypt for a brief stint in March 2018, and an earlier guest scientist position at Leibniz-Institute of Polymer Research Dresden from October 2007 to March 2012. Tarek also completed a Ph.D. at The Technical University of Chemnitz, specializing in plasma-based surface modifications of polyester fabrics and their interactions with polyelectrolytes and dyes. Tarek's academic roots trace back to Cairo University, where the title of Dr. was conferred between 1997 and 2004.
