Verena Jasmin Kast is a PhD student at Leibniz-Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden since November 2020, focusing on engineering the tumour microenvironment of pancreatic cancer to enhance treatment efficacy. Prior experience includes serving as a research assistant at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München, where work centered on the induction of cell death in granulosa cell tumours, and as a student assistant and research assistant at Max Planck Institute for Medical Research, conducting breast cancer cell invasion studies in 3D microchannels. Additionally, experience at National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg involved clonal marking of hematopoietic stem cells. Verena obtained a Master of Science in Biology from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in 2019 and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Reutlingen University in 2016.
