Benjamin Deissler is an experienced professional in the field of optics and physics, currently serving as the Manager Advanced Technology Compound and System Developer at Leica Microsystems since July 2014. In this role, Benjamin has developed optical systems for imaging and illumination in compound microscopes and managed small projects with both internal and external partners. Prior to this, Benjamin held postdoctoral positions at the University of Ulm, where leadership of a Ph.D. research group occurred from January 2011 to June 2014, and at the European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy, focusing on ultracold Bose-Einstein condensates of 39K atoms from April 2008 to January 2011. Benjamin holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from the University of Virginia, obtained from 2002 to 2008, and a Vordiplom in Physics from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, completed from 1999 to 2002.
