Mark Rutgers

Mark Rutgers currently serves as the Dean of Humanities at Leiden University, a position held since March 2017. Prior to this role, Mark Rutgers was the Director of the Graduate School of Social Sciences at the University of Amsterdam from April 2010 to March 2017. Mark Rutgers also had a long tenure at Leiden University from July 1986 to July 2010, holding various positions in Public Administration, including full professor with a focus on the Philosophy and Ethics of the Public Sector. Mark Rutgers began academic career as a student-assistant while studying at Leiden University, where a Master’s degree in Philosophy was obtained. Earlier education includes a Bachelor's degree in Museology from HBO University.
