Sylvester Placid

Sylvester Placid is a seasoned communications strategist with extensive experience in managing strategic communications for NASA-related programs. Currently serving as the NASA AEGIS Communications Team Lead at Leidos since May 2022, Sylvester oversees communications for the $2.5 billion AEGIS program, aligning efforts with NASA's Office of the Chief Information Officer. Previous roles include leading communications for network and telecommunications services under the SRACES and COMMSS programs at Media Fusion, LLC, and ASRC Federal. Sylvester has demonstrated expertise in developing strategic communication plans, content management, and stakeholder engagement, complemented by a solid educational background with a Master of Arts from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts from George Mason University. Recognized with multiple awards, including the inaugural NASA IT Ambassador Award, Sylvester has a proven track record in enhancing visibility and understanding of technical details among diverse audiences.
