Gretchen Turpen

SVP, General Manager at LendLease

Gretchen Turpen is the SVP and General Manager at LendLease. Prior to their current position, they served as the Physical Security Project Engineer and Section Chief for the Bureau of Diplomatic Security/Office of Physical Security Programs for the U.S. Department of State from September 1999 to September 2007. In this role, they managed the design process for all New Embassy Compound (NEC) design-build projects and ensured that anti-terrorism physical security countermeasures were incorporated into the construction of these U.S. overseas facilities. Gretchen also served as the Senior Security Engineer for Baghdad NEC and 30 NECs that were currently under design or construction. Gretchen frequently traveled to NEC sites to inspect construction and address on-site issues as they arose. In addition, Gretchen developed a physical security site plan for a 200,000 square meter facility on a 40-acre compound for NATO and presented the plan to the NATO Security Council. Gretchen's experience in physical security and project management makes their an invaluable asset to LendLease.

Gretchen Turpen received their Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
