Zulfaquar A. Arfi, PhD rer. nat. has a diverse and extensive work experience.

Starting in 2004, Zulfaquar worked as a Bachelor Student at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), where they focused on identifying mosquito blood meals for malaria parasites.

In 2007, Zulfaquar had a Master Thesis Project at the Talwar Research Foundation, where they conducted studies on cloning, expression, and purification of a recombinant vaccine against LHRH.

Following this, from 2007 to 2010, Zulfaquar worked at Bharat Serums & Vaccines Limited as an Executive in Drug Substance Manufacturing and Downstream Process Development. Here, they were involved in the manufacturing and downstream processing of biopharmaceutical products, as well as product development for two biopharmaceutical candidates.

In 2010, Zulfaquar joined BSV BioScience GmbH, initially as an Executive in Biological Process Development and later as the Head of Process Development (DS, DP & Analytics). In this role, they gained expertise in downstream process, finished formulation, and analytical development, along with project management. Zulfaquar was responsible for quality evaluation and vendor selection for API raw materials, downstream process development for biopharmaceutical products, and scale-up of manufacturing process from lab to commercial scale.

Simultaneously, Zulfaquar also worked as a Scientific Researcher at the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft from 2012 to 2015.

In 2018, Zulfaquar became the Treasurer of Bihar Fraternity - Renaissance To Cherish.

Most recently, Zulfaquar joined LenioBio GmbH in 2021 as a Team Lead.
