Paola Lovato

Paola Lovato is a Senior Principal Scientist at LEO Pharma, with extensive experience since August 2005 in the identification and validation of druggable targets and the immunological understanding of chronic skin diseases. Lovato has played a crucial role in preclinical drug development and the establishment of translation research platforms. Previous positions at LEO Pharma include Principal Research Scientist and Senior Research Scientist, leading discovery projects, implementing immunological assays, and collaborating with academic groups. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship and PhD studies at the University of Copenhagen, focusing on the immune pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory skin diseases and cutaneous T cell lymphoma. Early career involvement as a Young Visiting Scientist at McMaster University was complemented by a PhD in Applied Genetics and a Laurea in Biology from Università di Pavia.
