Sven Hauptmann

Sven Hauptmann is the EVP of Global Product Supply at Leo Pharma.

Sven has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and has been with Leo Pharma for the past 5 years. Prior to joining Leo Pharma, Sven spent 17 years at Roche, where they eventually became the SVP / Global Head of Drug Product Manufacturing.

In this role, Sven was responsible for the supply of Roche’s biopharmaceutical drug products and finished goods. Sven led and ran 6 manufacturing sites with over 4000 employees, and also managed external partners. Sven supported annual sales of over CHF 42 billion, with an annual operating budget of CHF 1.3 billion.

During their time at Roche, Sven made a number of key accomplishments, including assuring high safety, supply and quality/compliance performance. Sven also played a pivotal role in starting up the clinical and commercial supply of cell and personalized therapies. In addition, Sven helped transform the company’s network via an employee co-created agile approach to enable more patient focus, autonomous team, empowerment, and higher efficiency.

Thanks to Sven’s efforts, Roche was able to achieve a number of key results, including a 65% reduction in order lead time, a 50% improvement in right first time, 5% annual productivity improvements and first quartile employee engagement.

Sven Hauptmann has an MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Technische Universität Darmstadt. Sven also has various certifications from LinkedIn in subjects such as coaching for results, artificial intelligence for business leaders, developing emotional intelligence, having a happier workweek, leading with empathy, critical thinking for more effective communication, being assertive and likable, learning to say no with confidence and grace, staying positive in the face of negativity, strategic planning foundations, being a manager people won't leave, and body language for leaders.
