Arlene de Waal

Arlene de Waal has extensive work experience in project management in the IT industry. Arlene worked as a Project Manager - IT at Lesaka Technologies Inc. and EasyPay Africa starting in August 2021. Prior to that, they were the Business Owner/Project Manager for JovaSA, where they handled IT and business projects from August 2009 to July 2021.

Arlene de Waal has a diverse education history with a focus on project management and human resource management.

In 1994, they attended the Institute of People Management Leadership, where they obtained a degree in Human Resource Management & Practices. Arlene'sfield of study included Human Resource Management, Human Development Management, and Labour Relations Management.

In 1994, they also attended the Institute of Personnel Management, where they obtained a degree in Personnel Management, specifically studying the Nuts & Bolts of Personnel Management.

In 1995, Arlene attended the Institute of Personnel Service Consultants and completed the Affiliate Accreditation Exam in Personnel Services.

In 1996, they attended the Institute of Estate Agents and successfully completed the Estate Agents Board Exam, focusing on the Principles of Estate Agents.

In 2004, they enrolled in the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika and completed the Financial Management for Non-Financial Managers program, with a focus on the Principles of Financial Management.

In 2005, Arlene attended the Academy of Learning and studied Business Communication, specifically the Principles of Business Communication. Arlene also attended Snap-Tech (Pty) Ltd and completed a program in Project Management Fundamentals, focusing on Prince2 Processes.

In 2006, they furthered their management skills by attending the South African Airways Learning Institute and completing a program in Management Leadership.

In 2009, Arlene attended XPert Academy and obtained the Prince2 certification, passing both the Prince2 Practitioner and Foundation Exam. Arlene also obtained the Prince2 Foundation Exam certification from APMG International in the same year.

In 2019, they attended APMG and obtained the AgilePM Exam certification, specializing in Information Technology Project Management. Arlene also attended Torque IT and obtained an AgilePM Certification.

In addition to their formal education, Arlene has pursued additional certifications. In 2019, they obtained the AgilePM certification from APMG International. More recently, in 2023, they completed several Udemy courses, including the Ultimate Product Owner Certification, AgilePM + Scrum, Agile Fundamentals including Scrum and Kanban, Complete Agile Scrum Fundamentals, and How to become a strong Product Owner. Arlene also completed a Practical Project Manager course on Udemy in 2023.
