Ron Giles

Ron Giles has extensive experience in supply chain management and procurement. Ron currently works as the Head of Professional Advisory Services at LevaData, Inc. where they guide and directs strategic sourcing engagements for major clients using LevaData Cognitive Sourcing platform insights. Prior to this, Ron worked as an Independent Consultant specializing in supply chain and procurement.

From 2012 to 2017, Ron served as the Director of Global Supplier Management at Cisco Systems, leading a team responsible for over $3.5 billion in yearly strategic semiconductor spend. Ron also rotated into a Mechanical Solutions role where they restructured the mechanical supplier strategy.

Before Cisco Systems, Ron held multiple roles at different companies including SunPower Corporation, Opnext, Plastic Logic, Inc., and Hewlett Packard. At SunPower Corporation, they served as the Director of Module Procurement. At Opnext, they were the Director of Corporate Procurement overseeing procurement strategy and alignment across three business units in California and Japan. At Plastic Logic, Inc., Ron was the Strategic Procurement and Program Director, responsible for establishing key supplier and ODM relationships in a start-up environment.

Ron's career at Hewlett Packard spanned from 1997 to 2008, where they held various roles including Strategic Procurement Manager and R&D System Manager. In these roles, they were responsible for managing strategic component procurement, negotiating pricing and supply flexibility terms, and coordinating product strategy and technology roadmaps. Ron also led projects such as the relocation of the CTO manufacturing and IT infrastructure to Mexico.

Ron Giles has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics & International Relations from the University of California, Davis. Ron also completed a LEAD Certificate Program in Corporate Innovation at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 2017 to 2018. Prior to their university education, Ron attended Woodside High School.
