Malay Kapoor started their career in 2005 as a Human Resources Manager at Commonwealth of Learning, where they provided advisory services for HR programs and implemented various systems. Malay then worked at Amazon from 2016 to 2017 as a Recruiter for Senior Engineers in the eCommerce Platform. In 2018, they had a contract role at Mknetwork Inc. From 2019 to 2021, Malay worked at TELUS Communications as a Talent Acquisition Consultant for Tech Strategy & Telus Health, where they partnered with hiring managers and conducted assessments and interviews. Since 2021, they have been with Microsoft as a Global Talent Partner, leading the hiring process for principal engineering roles and providing various talent services.

Malay Kapoor has a diverse education history. In 2007, they obtained a Certificate in Talent Management from the Institute for Personality and Ability Testing, Inc. in Illinois, USA.
