Darren Orton

Darren Orton is an experienced medicinal chemist currently serving as the Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since April 2022. Prior to this role, Darren was the Director of Medicinal Chemistry at StemSynergy Therapeutics Inc. from December 2007 to April 2023, where Darren contributed to the discovery of small-molecule drugs targeting key developmental pathways in cancer and tissue regeneration. Darren holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Synthetic Chemistry from Durham University, earned between 1997 and 2001.
