Truus Teunissen is an experienced researcher and advisor currently working at Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing and the University of Humanistic Studies. Truus has been involved with ZonMw since 2015 in various capacities, including as a member of the program committee focused on health ethics and patient participation. Since 2011, Truus has contributed to Disability Studies in Nederland as a member of the research platform, and has volunteered with Longfonds since 1995, advocating for individuals with lung diseases. Previous roles include researcher at Amsterdam UMC, a board member of the ethics board for the Innovative Medicine Initiative, and participation in the European Asthma Research and Innovation Partnership. Truus holds a doctoral degree in Care Ethics from Amsterdam UMC and a master's degree in Social Sciences from Utrecht University.
